In the seemingly idyllic suburban community of Stepford, Connecticut, the arrival of Samantha "Sam" Stephens and her husband, Mike, sets off a chain reaction of sinister events. Initially, Sam is thrilled to leave behind the chaos of city life for a quieter, more wholesome existence in Stepford. However, as she gets to know the other women in town, including the charming and overly friendly Joanna, she begins to notice that something is amiss. The wives of Stepford are perfect – perfectly coiffed hair, perfectly manicured nails, and perfectly pleasant demeanor – but there's an eerie quality to their behavior that makes Sam uneasy. As Sam becomes more suspicious, she discovers that her husband Mike has been acting strangely as well.
